Restorative Dental Services
What is Restorative Dental Care?
Restorative dental care aims to restore the normal function and appearance of your smile.
By repairing structural problems such as damaged or missing teeth, our dentists can help restore your smile – and your oral health.
Depending on the issue you are experiencing, the dentists at Victoria BC Dental will determine the right restorative treatment option for you.
Periodontal (Gum) Therapy
Gum disease can infect the tissues of the mouth, including the alveolar bone, cementum, gingiva, gums and periodontal ligament. If the disease is identified in its early stages, preventive therapy will be recommended. Otherwise, treatment methods will depend on the type and severity of disease.
Root Canals
During a root canal, your dentist removes diseased nerves, tissues and blood vessels from a tooth's interior. By eliminating decay and bacteria, your dentist can help stop the spread of infection and prevent the need for a tooth extraction in the future. Without treatment, tissue surrounding the tooth can become infected.
Dental Crowns & Bridges
Crowns are porcelain caps that are placed on top of teeth to restore their function and appearance. Dental crowns are used to attach bridges, cover dental implants, or prevent a cracked tooth from worsening.
Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth.
TMJ Disorder Treatment
The temporomandibular joint (or TMJ) is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull.
The disorder of this joint can cause a variety of issues with your jaw and the muscles in your face, including painful symptoms. Our dentists can test for, diagnose, and provide a treatment plan for TMJ Disorder to help relieve pain and restore the function of your TMJ.
